A rail system is the ideal solution for livestock farmers who need to open their silage pit regularly and quickly reseal it airtight. The system travels along the top edge of the silo wall and stays perfectly aligned thanks to its guide wheels. This ensures stability and reliability, even under heavy use.

Rail systems always operate in combination with a permanent Agridek cover sheet featuring integrated cover hoses. Unlike portal systems, a rail system has a base frame that spans the entire width of the silo and includes a rolling tube.
This makes it possible to lift the system in the center using a loader or telehandler and easily move it to other silos. As with the portal system, the cover sheet can be lifted by filling the hoses with water, allowing the sheet to be pulled almost completely taut. When to choose an Agridek rail system?
- Standard fully electric design, supplied with a wireless remote control.
- An excellent choice when space is limited.
- Ideal for silos with a width of up to 14 meters.
- Suitable for setups where a single wall is shared between two silos (with no gap in between).
Limitations
The silo itself must be dimensionally stable and should not settle too much. With smart solutions, we can accommodate up to 8 cm of variation. This makes the system particularly suitable for cast trench silos with pile foundations and less suitable for light prefab walls on peat soil. Operation of the rail system
An Agridek rail system consists of a self-propelled frame with a powered roll, connected to a permanent Agridek cover sheet.
The machine drives stably along the silo wall thanks to front-wheel drive and guiding discs.
